Our Story.

The Royal George reborn.

About Our Journey

We are a traditional public house, which was a former Coaching Inn; providing refreshment and a meeting place for friends and family. Come and meet friends and family for drinks and a chat, and bring along your four legged friends to chill in our garden, or nestle by the fire.

Our food offering is a fusion of the West and East, served in a traditional pub environment. The ‘uniqueness of Eurasia, in the form of Jo Lee, continues to exist in the Private Dining Room - The Penang Room. The Eurasian menu will be smaller with emphasis on Peranakan cuisine, and the cuisine of Malaysia.

Our People

Alan Mills
Alan is known to many in Hurst Green, and is involved in the Comedy Capers and the Quiz Team for Hurst Green. With Alan’s involvement in the running of The Royal George, it is hoped that The Royal George will take its historical place as a meeting place for residents of Hurst Green.
Jo Lee
Jo had the ownership of The Royal George for over 23 years and had guided The Royal George and Eurasia Restaurant for the whole of this period.
It is time for Jo to get some time off in the near future. With the appointment of Alan Mills, it is planned that eventually Alan will be the main person to lead The Royal George into its new / original role in Hurst Green.

Ann Loo
Many in Hurst Green have became very fond of Ann, who had been in the Village since 2008. Ann is hopefully a fixture at The Royal George, and will be working together with Alan to guide the future of The Royal George Hurst Green
